On-page Optimization

This section and document gives us guidelines on how to run through an entire website and make on-page adjustments.

Create spreadsheet

  1. Crawl site with SF and get list of all web pages.
    • We only want to spend time on pages that will rank for competitive keywords. While we only want to spend time on the important primary pages, each page should at least have a basic 100% unique Title Tag and Meta Desc.
  2. Export the “Internal” tab filtered to “HTML” as a CSV file, and import to Google Sheets under clients “Technical Data” folder. This should give us data on all the current web pages.
  3. Edit spreadsheet to have columns for URL, Title Tags, Meta Description, H1 Heading, H2 Subheading – this is all we normally need for this process.
  4. Make sure each populated row has two blank rows under it–for updated data.

Create TMH (Title Tags, Meta Descriptions, Heading Text)

Please read through the on-page optimization section of the knowledge base to refresh our guidelines before beginning.

When completed, tag your manager to review in ClickUp.

In the spreadsheet, keep the existing data row for each page so we have a record of the existing data, and add you will add your updated data on the blank row below.

When you have finished your updates, highlight the row yellow to indicate you’re finished and move on to the next web page.
