Spend 15-20 minutes browsing the website, look for any issues. Try to find areas we can improve SEO or conversions.

Things to look for

  • Browse the website
    • Try to break the website, look for any problems.
    • Does the webform send? Does the webform give verification errors?
  • Review on-page optimization
    • Does TMH look well optimized, or is there room for improvement?
    • Is there good internal linking?
    • Are the anchors optimized with keywords? Especially in the navigation.
    • Is there good contrast with text overall? Make sure everything is easily readable.
  • Conversions best practices
    • Phone
      • In header?
      • Phone coded as tap to call, i.e. tel:
      • Is phone # that displays on the website the same that shows in the code (just hover the phone to check this).
      • Is phone visible and tap to call on mobile resolution?
    • Call to action (CTA)
      • Does the website have a clear compelling CTA element?
      • Do the main landing pages have an inline webform close to top of page?
  • Images
    • Any pixelated?
    • Wrong image for topic of page?
    • Image too small? Too big?
    • Big block of text that NEEDS an image?
  • Test any website features or elements
    • Does the site have a gallery? Test and make sure it functions well.
    • If it’s an ecomm site, add products to cart, go through some of the shipping & checkout process to again make sure it’s functioning correctly.
    • Any other specific or unique features to test on the website?

Again, try to break the site. Or in a more positive mindset, browse the site as a potential customer or a potential competitor of ours looking to sell the client on moving services. Anything broken? Anything we can do to improve?
